Before songs become the soundtrack to your life, they're someone else's life.
Verses is a heartfelt, dark comedy that explores the stories behind the songs of two polar opposite singer/songwriters walking converging paths to stardom.
Marshall and Ethan were bandmates - bonding their freshman year of college over a mutual love of Simon & Garfunkel b-sides. This gave birth to the Golden Eagles, an homage to their idols. The two philosophy majors won over classmates at every campus coffeehouse before graduating to bigger stages. Taking a year off school, they toured the east coast amassing new fans everywhere they went. The future was bright.
It wasn’t long before one exec at a major record label discovered them and offered a deal that could unlock the gate to their dreams…
…but seven years later we find Marshall locked in a law office choking in a suit and tie while Ethan continues to slug it out alone on the road taking any gig that will pay his rent. What happened? They haven’t talked in years, their lives are crumbling beneath them, and ready or not, they’re on a crash course back into each other’s lives.
